| Annual Wellness Programs
CountryChase Veterinary Clinic believes in a progressive preventative health program for our patients. This program has evolved through both recent scientific information from the veterinary community on how pets age and our own experience practicing veterinary medicine. It also incorporates the latest vaccination recommendations, published by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).
Luckily for us, our pets are living much longer lives today than they did in the past. With this increase in life expectancy in mind, we have designed our Annual Wellness Program to provide the pets entrusted to our care with the healthiest and most comfortable lives possible.
Because of their comparatively rapid aging process, we believe that all cats and dogs should be examined on a yearly basis. It is also our philosophy that vaccination programs should be tailored to each pet's needs. The Annual Wellness Program includes a comprehensive physical examination, core vaccinations, and a variety of laboratory tests that cover blood, urine, and fecal screening. Our Wellness Program offers substantial savings when compared to the cost of the same services performed individually.
Our goal is to identify signs of health problems or disease at the earliest possible stage. Early detection and treatment not only offers your pet a happier, healthier, longer life, it can also help you greatly reduce the costs associated with extensive treatments for longstanding problems or advanced disease.
The value of performing the laboratory tests included in the Annual Wellness Program cannot be overstated. Through blood, urine and fecal tests, we can assess the total health of your cherished pet, as well as pinpoint any potential problem areas requiring lifestyle modification and/or early treatment. Recent studies have emphasized how important routine blood screening can be in the detection of possible problems in young, seemingly healthy dogs and cats.
The Annual Wellness Program is designed for healthy young adult dogs and cats, ages one to seven (approximately 10 to 49 in human years). At seven years of age, we recommend our Golden Years Program, which entails more extensive testing geared towards identifying problems more common in older pets.
Wellness Program Includes:
- Comprehensive Physical Examination
- Complete Blood Cell Count
- Young Adult Blood Chemistry Profile
- Urine Screening
- Fecal Parasite, Ova and Protozoal Examination
- Heartworm Antigen Test
- Environmental Impact Fee (Biohazardous waste disposal)
- Any core vaccines (i.e. rabies, upper respiratory combo) that your pet is due to receive are included at no cost
If you choose not to participate in the Annual Wellness Program, our Basic Health Care Program is still available. The Basic Health Care Program begins with a complete physical examination; any tests, vaccinations, or products that may be recommended are also still available at our regular prices.
Additional Considerations are examples of common tests that could be required to reach an accurate diagnosis, and additional vaccinations your dog may need based on lifestyle or activities. Heartworm prevention is a must for all dogs, regardless of whether they live indoors or out, due to our year-round mosquito population. Other unlisted considerations, such as additional tests, medications or products may arise as patient needs are assessed. We will be more than happy to provide you with an estimate of costs of any other recommended tests, procedures, medications, or products.
Should any abnormalities be detected upon initial Wellness Program screenings, further diagnostics may also be advised, along with their respective costs. Please feel free to discuss your pet's treatments and costs with us at any time.
